Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. She relocated to Oxfordshire at the age of five and enrolled in an academy called the Dragon School. Emma decided to be an actor by the age of six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing as well as dancing, and also acting. The actress had performed in several Stagecoach or school shows by the time she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been selected for the characters. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's screen debut took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in 2001. The film was also one of the top-rated films during 2001. Its opening days and weekends of the sales were record breaking. Film critics praised the film as well as the performances of the three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her excellent performance. Later Emma was nominated for five prizes for her work in the film, winning an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in the feature Film.
